Most people never read privacy policies. And we don't blame them.

Most policies are filled with legal jargon, complex language and dozens of pages of text that few people can actually understand.

At K1VPN we believe privacy is too important to hide behind incomprehensible legal language.

That's why we've tried to write this policy as simply, clearly and understandably as possible.

In each section you'll find a short plain-language summary first, followed by more detail for those who want to know exactly how our service works.

This Privacy Policy describes how K1VPN LLC ("K1VPN", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects information relating to the use of its website, applications and VPN services.

Many online services rely on collecting large volumes of information, building user profiles and analysing behaviour.

K1VPN takes a different approach.

Our goal is to collect only the information necessary for:

• - creating and managing accounts,
• - providing the VPN service,
• - managing subscriptions,
• - customer support,
• - the security and stability of our systems.

We believe the best way to protect a lot of data is to not collect it in the first place.

K1VPN operates a strict no-activity-logging policy (No-Logs Policy).

We do not collect, store or monitor:

We do not retain activity logs that could be used to reconstruct a user's online behaviour.

In order to establish and maintain an active VPN connection, our infrastructure temporarily processes the public IP address of your connection.

This information:

• - exists only in the RAM of our VPN servers,
• - is not written to persistent storage,
• - is not recorded in log files,
• - is automatically deleted when the VPN connection ends.

Separately from the VPN connection, when you visit our websites your IP address is cached for 60 minutes. This is done solely to prevent abuse of the diagnostic tools we provide.

K1VPN does not retain a history of users' real IP addresses.

K1VPN's philosophy is built on minimising the data that exists in our systems.

We do not retain information that could link:

• - a VPN session,
• - a website,
• - a DNS query,
• - a file download,
• - or any other internet activity,

to a specific user after their connection has ended.

Our goal is not simply to promise privacy through a policy.

Our goal is to design our systems so that data which could compromise user privacy does not exist in the first place.

Privacy is not an optional feature of K1VPN. It is a fundamental design principle of our service.

We use specialist payment providers to manage subscriptions and payments.

At the time of writing this policy, our primary payment provider is Stripe.

When you make a purchase or activate a subscription, certain information is processed directly by Stripe, including:

• - country,
• - IP address,
• - payment details,
• - billing information,
• - subscription status,
• - transaction records.

K1VPN does not store:

• - credit or debit card numbers,
• - security codes (CVV/CVC),
• - bank account details,
• - sensitive payment identification data.

Processing of this information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy and terms.

To prevent fraud, such as the use of stolen cards and other malicious activity, K1VPN uses the protections offered by Stripe Radar.

Cryptocurrency payments

If you choose to pay with cryptocurrency, the transaction is processed exclusively through our own self-hosted BTCPay Server, without the use of a third-party payment provider. This server runs on our own bare-metal server and only we have access to it.

The account created in this case is anonymous: it is generated at random and is not linked to your email address. Cryptocurrency transactions are recorded on a public blockchain, which is outside K1VPN's control. With Bitcoin, transactions are publicly visible, while with Monero the sender, the receiver and the amount are hidden.

K1VPN may offer new users free trial access of up to 48 hours.

Activating the trial period requires registering a valid payment card through Stripe.

No charge is made during the free trial.

The requirement for a valid card is used solely to:

• - verify payment capability,
• - prevent abusive use of the free trial,
• - protect the service from automated or malicious sign-ups.

The K1VPN website includes a contact form through which you can reach us.

This form collects:

• - your email address,
• - the content of your message.

This information is used exclusively for:

• - answering queries,
• - providing technical support,
• - resolving account or subscription issues,
• - communicating about services you have requested.

We do not use communication data for advertising purposes, building user profiles or sending unsolicited messages.

Communications are retained only for as long as required to resolve the relevant issue.

K1VPN uses only functional and necessary cookies related to:

• - session management,
• - dashboard functionality,
• - account security.

K1VPN does not use:

• - Google Analytics,
• - Facebook Pixel,
• - visitor tracking tools,
• - advertising networks,

We do not track:

• - how long you spend on each page,
• - your navigation behaviour on our website.

We believe that operating a VPN service does not require monitoring its visitors.

We use selected technology infrastructure providers to operate our services.

These providers may process limited technical information necessary to deliver their services.

K1VPN does not use any of the above providers to monitor or analyse the activity of users through the VPN.

K1VPN operates internationally and uses technology providers active in different countries and jurisdictions.

As a result, some limited information may be processed outside your country of residence. Examples include:

• - hosting services,
• - email services,
• - network security services,
• - cloud infrastructure.

When selecting partners and service providers, we aim to work with organisations that apply appropriate data protection and information security measures.

K1VPN implements security measures designed to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

These measures may include:

• - secure password storage,
• - restricted system access,
• - network protection mechanisms,
• - infrastructure security procedures.

While we make every reasonable effort to protect information, no system can guarantee absolute security.

For this reason, we recommend that users use strong and unique passwords for their accounts.

K1VPN has an affiliate program through which approved affiliates can promote our services and receive commissions for successful referrals.

To operate the program we may process:

• - referral count,
• - performance statistics,

• - payment status,
• - communications related to the program.

This information is used exclusively to operate the affiliate program.

The affiliate program is completely independent of VPN operations and is not used for tracking user activity, analysing VPN usage or building user profiles.

Depending on your country of residence and applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:

• - request deletion of your personal data,
• - request restriction of certain forms of processing,
• - object to specific forms of processing where permitted by law,

Due to the data minimisation policy we apply, the information linked to a K1VPN account is usually limited.

For security reasons we may request reasonable verification of identity or account ownership before processing a request.

Users can request account deletion by contacting K1VPN support, or delete their account themselves from the dashboard.

After account deletion, we will delete or anonymise information that is no longer necessary for:

• - operating the service,
• - compliance with legal obligations,
• - resolving disputes,
• - protecting our systems from fraud or abuse.

Limited information relating to financial transactions, accounting obligations, tax requirements or legal obligations under applicable law may be retained. To prevent abuse and multiple registrations, the email address you used during registration remains in our systems for 2 years if you used the Free Trial or registered using a card.

K1VPN does not retain VPN activity logs, so there is no browsing, connection or VPN usage data remaining after account deletion.

K1VPN may provide its own apps for connecting to its VPN servers on a range of operating systems and devices. These apps may be available on our websites or in the relevant stores, such as the Google Play Store, the Microsoft Store and the App Store.

To work, the apps need only your VPN username and VPN password. These credentials are generated automatically when you sign up for our services and can be found exclusively in your user dashboard. They are linked to your account so the service can function, but are never linked to your IP address or to your activity on our network.

These credentials are transmitted in encrypted form only to our servers, so that you can connect.

Our apps may display your IP address before and after you connect to the K1VPN network. This gives you a full picture of the IP address that the websites you visit, and any third-party services you use, actually see.

The IP address shown by the app is not stored anywhere and is not sent to any third party to be identified. It is looked up exclusively by servers in our own infrastructure and for that purpose only.

K1VPN may receive requests from courts, government bodies, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities or other entities with lawful authority to make requests.

Each request is reviewed individually in accordance with applicable law, our legal obligations and the data protection principles we apply.

However, due to our strict no-logging policy, K1VPN does not possess information about:

• - browsing history,
• - websites visited,
• - DNS queries,
• - connection durations,
• - VPN activity logs,
• - bandwidth usage.

In many cases, the information requested simply does not exist in our systems.

K1VPN does not create or retain data solely in anticipation of future requests from third parties.

K1VPN may periodically publish separate Transparency Reports.

These reports may include aggregate data relating to:

• - government authority requests,
• - court orders,
• - law enforcement requests,
• - DMCA notices,
• - abuse reports,
• - other legal or regulatory requests.

These reports do not include users' personal data. Their purpose is to provide greater transparency about the requests K1VPN receives.

K1VPN's services provide strongly encrypted access to the internet. All of your activity, including DNS requests, passes through a secure tunnel, and the IP address assigned to you by your provider is not visible to third parties.

K1VPN does not provide any "magic" access to content. Anything that is publicly available is available from any connection, with or without a VPN.

The K1VPN website and apps do not host or display content intended exclusively for adults, nor any third-party content.

K1VPN cannot know the age of its users and currently has no technical means of verifying it.

Our services must be used in accordance with the Terms of Service and not to bypass geographic or other restrictions, or for minors to access content intended exclusively for adults, or to access content protected by copyright or not available in certain regions.

At K1VPN we believe that a minor's use of our network is mainly protective, since hiding their real IP address and location shields them from malicious actions by third parties.

For these reasons, K1VPN simply recommends that its services be used by people aged 13 and over, since payment is required to access our network.

The age of 13 is the minimum set by K1VPN and may not apply in every country. In all cases, the age limit set by the country where the user is located applies whenever it is higher. Since K1VPN cannot verify the age of its users, compliance with the applicable limit is the responsibility of the user or, in the case of a minor, of their parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

If we find that an account violates the Terms of Service or was created by a person under 13 or under the higher age limit that applies in their country, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate it.
