What Is Pseudonymization?
Replacing identifying information with pseudonyms, so data is not directly linked to a person.
Pseudonymization swaps out identifying details, like a name or email, for a code or fake label. The data is still useful for analysis. But matching it back to a real person needs extra information, kept in a separate, protected place. GDPR treats this as a key way to protect data.
