What Is Throughput?
The actual data transfer speed achieved on a connection, as opposed to the theoretical maximum.
While bandwidth expresses the maximum theoretical capacity of a connection, throughput is the actual speed achieved in practice, which is affected by factors such as network load, distance, and infrastructure quality. Low throughput is the most common cause of buffering in video streaming.
